Does the CPOA investigate all citizen complaints re: APD or just APD Use of Force cases?
Kelly Mensah CPC Liaison
01:08:11
Mr. Schumacher, our role is to help facilitate APD's shift to Community Policing. We say that CPC stands for CReating Positive Change.
Kelly Mensah CPC Liaison
01:10:54
A lot of the CPC's mission comes from the members of each council, and each of the 6 councils have different goals, and outcomes. The CPC was created just slightly prior to the Court Approved Settlement Agreement in order to try to deflect Use of Force, but over the years, we have also moved into helping APD with other issues, such as recruiting, PR, etc.

Just a reminder, there is a public folder on Google Drive for a variety of documents (short URL here):https://tinyurl.com/CPC-ABQ-public-2As the CPCs' Council of Chairs contemplates a return to "in-person" meetings, we are also evaluating ways to continue our "virtual" option (Zoom) for those who really prefer or need that option. You can see our first test here:https://youtu.be/G25dBulpX_U(There will be links to other tests in the comments on that YouTube video.)
